The COVID-19 pandemic has brought some impact to the 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games' preparations. Authorities are taking science-based measures to minimize exposure to the virus without delaying preparations, said Guo Weimin, spokesperson for the fourth session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) on Wednesday in Beijing.

All sports venues are ready, expressways and railways are all set, steady progress has been made in promotions as well. So, preparations are well underway, Guo added.

Besides, Guo said, "Boycott of the Beijing 2022 is against the spirit of the Olympic Charter. It's in vain and will not get the support of the international community. It won't succeed."
