In the year 2020, efforts were made in building the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) as an important channel for addressing conflicts and building consensus on shared theoretical and political foundation, said Wang Yang, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.
He made the remarks on Thursday when delivering a work report to the fourth session of the 13th National Committee of the CPPCC.
Talking about foreign exchanges through "cloud diplomacy" and offline interactions, Wang said that with statements, forums and interviews with National Committee members, the U.S. legislation concerning Xinjiang, Tibet, and Hong Kong as well as anti-China bills regarding COVID-19 were denounced.
Meanwhile, he said that the National Committee members from Hong Kong were encouraged to issue statements calling for the enactment and enforcement of the National Security Law for the HKSAR.
