A low tide has brought water levels down to rarely seen depths over the past few days, leaving Venice's canals dry and gondolas stranded in the mud. The phenomenon is linked to the February's full moon, also known as the snow moon, because full moons cause the highest tidal fluctuations, local authorities said.
