In early spring, the snow began to melt, revealing the Danxia landform of Hongshanzui Hill in Jinghe County in Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The Danxia landform refers to various landscapes found in the southeast, southwest and northwest China consisting of a red bed characterized by steep cliffs. It is a unique type of petrographic geomorphology found in China.
