One man was killed and more than ten people were taken to hospital after a fire broke out at an apartment building in Yau Ma Tei in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Saturday, according to local media.

The blaze started at around 5:15 a.m. and was put out after little more than one hour, the reports said.

Over 100 fire firefighters, 19 fire trucks and 10 ambulances were dispatched to the scene. More than 100 residents were evacuated.

Authorities said they will investigate the cause of the fire.
