Around 72,300 residents in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Sinovac Biotech since February 22, the HKSAR government said on Friday.
The city began its inoculation program on February 26 and a total of 267,600 people have registered for Sinovac shots so far.
Chief Executive Carrie Lam and other officials were vaccinated on February 22, three days after the first batch of one million doses of the Sinovac vaccine arrived in the city.
Hong Kong later received a batch of Fosun-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine and around 110,800 people have made appointments for the jab.
