Taiwan's businesses should seize the opportunity of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) and the Long-range Objectives through the Year 2035, said Wang Yang, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Wang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks on Sunday when joining the Taiwan delegation in a group deliberation at the fourth session of the 13th National People's Congress.

"Taiwan independence" separatist activities and interference by outside forces should be resolutely curbed, he said.

The risks and challenges should not be underestimated, he added, stressing the importance of adhering to the one-China principle and the 1992 Consensus.
