Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a virtual press conference on Sunday on the sidelines of the fourth session of the 13th National People's Congress in Beijing, where he took questions from reporters on China's foreign policy and relations.
When asked about the relationship between China and Arab states, Wang Yi stated that despite the spread of COVID-19, China-Arab relations have continued to move forward and a summit will be held at a time to be discussed.
Wang used an Arabic expression to say that China is willing to work together with Arab states in solidarity and pursue common progress.
"Friendship is a tree with good faith as roots and goodwill as branches," Wang quoted the proverb, adding that China will work with Arab states to prepare for a China-Arab states summit, add new dimensions to the China-Arab states strategic partnership, and strive for more achievements in building a Sino-Arab community with a shared future.
