Thirty-seven-year-old Chung Wai-Kit is a Beijing-based producer of documentary films. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Chung traces his family background to Shenyang, a city about 3,000 kilometers northeast of his birthplace. Besides Hong Kong and Beijing, Chung has lived and studied for a while in Taipei. He said the Chinese mainland offers more opportunities than Hong Kong or Taiwan for young people who want to set out in life by themselves.
