China and the U.S. are the top two global economies, accounting for over 40% of the world's GDP, one-fifth of the world's exports of goods and services, and half of the world's top 500 enterprises. Rong Ying, vice president of the China Institute of International Studies, told CGTN that mutual respect between China and the U.S. is the "most important" element for bilateral ties to move forward.
