Hong Kong officials have expressed their views on how the principle of "patriots administering Hong Kong" relates to improving the city's electoral system. Brave Chan Yung, vice chairman of the Democratic Alliance for Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong, said "So now we've realized that there are some public officials in Hong Kong who are actually loyal to foreign governments, or rather they have absolutely no loyalty to their own country while openly breaking from it. This kind of future is very dangerous and horrifying."
