Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday attended a deliberation of the delegation of the People's Liberation Army and People's Armed Police Force at the fourth session of the 13th National People's Congress, China's top legislature. 

President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, noted that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. He urged upgrading defense and military construction during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) period.
