Chinese Ambassador to the United Nations (UN) Chen Xu on Tuesday called for unity in the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic while addressing the UN Human Rights Council on behalf of over 100 countries.

Chen said the global response should be people-centered and gender-responsive, and called for efforts to make vaccines accessible and affordable especially for developing countries.
