China's "dual circulation" economic development pattern emphasizes both China's domestic and foreign market, which means the country will continue to proactively open up to the world and make China an important destination for foreign investment, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang told reporters at a virtual press conference after the conclusion of the fourth session of the 13th National People's Congress on Thursday afternoon.

He said that China has deeply integrated with the world during the past decades, and closing doors to other markets is a dead end. He added that developing China's domestic market will bring huge opportunities for foreign products and services.

In November 2020, China reached the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement after eight years of negotiation. Li said the joint effort by 15 Asia Pacific countries with different political systems and stages of development exemplified that with mutual respect, different countries can find a common interest and bring benefits to their people.

As an important component of the world supply chain, China will continue to respect WTO rules and cut negative lists for foreign investors, fostering an international and market-oriented business climate, Li added.
