A total of 64 countries have issued a joint statement at a UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) meeting supporting China's policies in Xinjiang. In response, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian said China's policies in Xinjiang are not about human rights, ethnicity, or religion, but about combating violent terrorism and separatism.
