Former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Saturday. The CoronaVac vaccine is developed by Chinese company Sinovac, in collaboration with the Brazilian Butantan Institute, a government-run organization specialized in vaccine research.

According to Lula, he would receive his second vaccine dose "in 14 to 28 days."

Meanwhile, he asked the Brazilian government "to guarantee vaccines for all the Brazilian people."
