Two confirmed COVID-19 cases were found during a compulsory testing operation in an area of the city's Central and Western District, local broadcaster TVB reported on Monday.
Around 960 residents in the restricted area were tested and authority said it also detected one suspected case and is still verifying it.
The financial hub has turned to "ambush-style lockdowns" since January this year, closing off areas and testing people inside.
Two separate operations were launched in two areas in the district on Sunday at 7 p.m. and concluded early this morning. No confirmed infections were found in the other one after nearly 680 people were tested there.
Hong Kong is seeing an infection surge related to a gym cluster lately which has seen a total of 109 confirmed cases linked to it so far.
