- Prosecutors in the northern Italian region of Piedmont said on Monday they had seized a batch of 393,600 shots of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine following the death of a man hours after he had received a jab. Piedmont's regional government suspended use of the batch after Sandro Tognatti, a 57-year-old music teacher, fell ill and died in circumstances that have not yet been clarified on Sunday.

- The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Monday in a statement to Reuters that it was reviewing AstraZeneca's vaccine, and there was no evidence that recent incidents were caused by the shot.

- British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said AstraZeneca's vaccine was safe and the government was very confident about using it in its vaccination push.

- Thailand will start using the AstraZeneca vaccine on Tuesday after a brief delay over safety concerns, officials said, with Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha and cabinet members due to be first in line to get shots.

- Indonesia said it will delay administering the vaccine and will await a review from the WHO.
