U.S. temporarily closes consulate in Hong Kong following COVID-19 cases

The United States temporarily closed its consulate in Hong Kong on Monday after two employees tested positive for COVID-19, the consulate general of the United States in Hong Kong and Macao said in a statement. 

"We have closed the Consulate General to perform a deep disinfection and cleaning, while appropriate contact tracing is completed," said the statement. 

All scheduled services for U.S. citizens and visa applicants have been canceled for Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the statement.
