The 24th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) will be held for ten days from June 11-20 this year, with the Golden Goblet Awards ceremony on June 19, the event's organizer announced on Monday.

The international Class-A film festival usually welcomes over 100 new film crews and about 400 well-known filmmakers from home and abroad every year, except for 2020 when the red carpet and other ceremonies were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year, the red carpet registrations are open for filmmakers and film organizations from across the world.

Founded in 1993, the SIFF is a competitive global event driven by Shanghai's efforts to become an international cultural hub. A total of 3,693 films from 108 countries and regions registered for last year's event.
