Experts and scholars attended a forum organized by China Media Group (CMG) in Beijing on Monday to discuss a special TV program on the history of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

"The Party's History in Classic Artworks" is a 100-episode show marking the CPC's centenary. It highlights paintings, movie excerpts, musicals and other vintage materials depicting historical events, major developments and watershed moments that shaped the Party and the country.

"As a special TV program reflecting the Party's historic journey on mainstream media, the show presents the great history of the Party through epic artworks and becomes an imprint of the CPC's glorious centennial course," said CMG President Shen Haixiong at the forum.

The event was attended by historians, artists, museum representatives and academics who discussed the program, its significance and characteristics. They noted that it offers an innovative opportunity to learn about the CPC history through cultural artifacts.

The show began to air on CCTV-1 and CCTV-10 on January 25.
