A world-leading high-tech smart greenhouse entered trial operation recently in east China's Shanghai. Construction was completed on the Chongming Modern Agricultural Park, covering an area of 835 mu (about 56 hectares). The park is composed of five giant greenhouses, which are expected to welcome visitors in May.  

LED lights have been added to the roofs of the greenhouses, supplementing the light to promote the ripening of fruit. Machines with high-tech intelligent environmental control technology have also been set up to promote plant growth. Light, water, fertilizer and gas can all be automatically adjusted as needed, which makes it possible for the huge plant factory to work around the clock in all seasons.
