Cabutí, a Barcelona-based Spanish engineer, cycled for 10 months and witnessed almost all of Europe during COVID-19 pandemic. As an avid traveler and cyclist, he had planned to ride from Barcelona, Spain, to Singapore just days before COVID-19 spread across Europe.
In March 2020, he realized he would not be able to make it to Singapore, after being trapped by the Italian border blockade on his second day in Italy, and not being offered accommodation at a hotel he had booked, which completely disrupted his trip.
After that, he cycled 25,700 kilometers across Europe, crossing 43 countries, including Belarus, Slovenia, Germany, Switzerland and France. Cabutí says his special trip has left him with a mixture of feelings.
