Japanese court decides 'prohibition of same-sex marriage is unconstitutional'

A court in Japan ruled on Wednesday that denying same-sex marriage is unconstitutional, Kyodo News reported.

The lawsuit at the Sapporo District Court filed by three couples in Hokkaido was among five filed across Japan in 2019 calling for the law to be changed.
