Flamingos are very social. That's why they are often seen in flocks. The large colonies can help the bird avoid predators and maximize food intake. In order to improve flamingo breeding behavior, some zoos put mirrors around flamingos to make them have the impression that their flock is larger. The bird is loved by many people due to their lovely feather color and elegant look.
