China and the United States are set to begin high-level talks in Alaska on Thursday. This will be the first diplomatic meeting between high-level officials of Beijing and Washington since President Biden took office. Ying says that the meeting is based on the mutual respect of the two sides, but that doesn't mean China will compromise on certain important issues like sovereignty. Tangen states that cooperation between the two sides is needed, but it's going to be difficult. And any hypocrisy will be judged by the world.
