At 2.6 meters tall, this is the tallest bronze figure of its time. Over 3,000 years old, the figure is clad in robes decorated with dragons and birds and is wearing a crown with a sun motif. He may have been a king or priest-king of Sanxingdui.
Sanxingdui was a Bronze Age city that flourished 3,000-5,000 years ago in southwest China. Sanxingdui was the capital of the State of Shu and is one of modern China's greatest archaeological finds.
