Tanzania's Samia Suluhu Hassan was sworn in as president on Friday, becoming the first female head of state in the east African country.
Hassan, 61, who leaves the role of vice president following the death of President John Magufuli, took the oath of office at State House in Dar es Salaam, the country's commercial capital.
