Manchester United defied the gloom on the football world's coronavirus-induced chaotic landscape on Friday by announcing that the club has signed a new five-year agreement with the global technology company TeamViewer worth £235 million ($326 million).
TeamViewer, a German software company, will replace Chevrolet on the front of the Reds' shirts from the start of next season. It is the most expensive sponsorship deal struck during the pandemic by any sports team and the biggest shirt-only sponsor in the Premier League history.
"We are tremendously proud to be establishing this partnership with one of the most exciting and dynamic global software companies," Richard Arnold, United's managing director, told United's official website.

"The ability to connect and collaborate has never been more important to the world and our community of 1.1 billion fans and followers. We are looking forward to working with TeamViewer to bring to life our vision for a partnership built on smarter ways of connecting people and businesses," he added.
Under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær, United have rediscovered their fine form in recent outings. The English giants booked their Europa League last-eight spot with a 2-1 aggregate victory over Milan on Thursday, thanks to Paul Pogba's winning goal in the second leg at the San Siro.
Solskjær's men will take on Granada in the quarter-final and will play Ajax or Roma in the semi-finals if they overwhelm the club eighth in La Liga.
The quarter-finals are scheduled for April 8 and 15 and the semi-finals for April 29 and May 6. The final will take place in the Polish city of Gdansk on May 26.
