Lei Yu is a researcher at the Sichuan Provincial Cultural Relics and Archaeology Research Institute and the director of the Sanxingdui Site Workstation. Having graduated from Peking University with a degree in archaeology, he started work at the institute in 1984. For over 30 years, Lei Yu has participated in and presided over field excavations. In an interview with CGTN's ICON, he says that visiting a museum and seeing artifacts he had unearthed is like "a pleasant encounter with an old friend."
