A total of 482,664 people in Azerbaijan have been inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine made by Chinese biopharmaceutical company Sinovac Biotech as of Saturday, according to the government.

Azerbaijan officially started its vaccination program on January 18 and Azerbaijani Health Minister Ogtay Shiraliyev and his deputies, as well as other health officials, were among the first to be vaccinated.

The country has purchased four million doses of Sinovac vaccine.
