Hundreds of people across the United States rallied against hate and violence towards Asian Americans on Saturday. The rallies were sparked by recent shootings in the Atlanta area that left eight people dead – most of them women of Asian descent. Violence against Asians has escalated in the U.S. since the COVID-19 pandemic began, with one study reporting nearly 3,800 anti-Asian hate crimes in the past year.
