- The drug maker said it will engage with the independent panel of the U.S. trial of its vaccine and will release further data "within 48 hours" after a U.S. regulator said AstraZeneca included out-of-date drug data in information provided during the U.S. trials.

- The company will also provide Europe's drug regulator with data from the U.S. trials and the watchdog could adjust its assessment of the shot if needed, the head of the European Medicines Agency said on Tuesday.

- Top U.S. health official Dr. Anthony Fauci said the AstraZeneca jab is likely very good, but an independent review board was concerned about how the drug maker presented data in a press release this week.

- Sandra Galina, chief of the European Commission's health division, on Tuesday lashed out at AstraZeneca for its production shortfall and threatened that any shots produced in the EU could be forced to stay there.
