The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee is holding a ceremony to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party, Wang Xiaohui, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee said on Tuesday.
Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, will deliver a speech at the event.
Xi will also present the July 1 Medal for the first time. Eligible recipients will be living CPC members who have been party members for 50 full years or longer as of July 1, 2021, and have consistently performed well in their roles.
The award will become an annual affair, which will take place around July 1 – the founding day of the CPC.
