A spokesperson for China Media Group (CMG) on Friday urged Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authority to stop threatening and intimidating Taiwan artists who had appeared in a video clip of the organization and called for promoting integrated development across the Taiwan Straits.

Asked by a reporter over the artists being threatened by the DPP authority of "violating laws," the spokesperson said that the historical trend of exchanges and integration across the Taiwan Straits could not be stopped by anyone or any force.

The spokesperson urged the DPP authority to return to rationality and make efforts to promote integrated development across the Straits.

Several Taiwan entertainers including actress Ouyang Nana and singer Angela Chang (Zhang Shaohan) recently appeared in a trailer for the launch of CMG's Cross-Strait Radio and its new media platform "See Taiwan Straits."

"People should never forget their roots wherever they are," Ouyang said in the trailer, expressing her hope that the radio will create a bond between young people across the Straits.

Chang said she hopes the radio and its new media platform will become a "harbor of culture" that facilitates communications between young people of the two sides.

The Cross-Strait Radio will cover the southeastern coast of the Chinese mainland as well as the Taiwan region. It broadcasts in Mandarin for 20 hours per day. In addition, there will be four major programs, including news and commentary, life services, culture and art, as well as music and tourism.
