At least 15 miners were trapped after a gold mine collapsed Friday in the state of Caldas, central Colombia.
Police in Caldas said the collapse was caused by a landslide, which was triggered by torrential rains.
The head of the National Mining Agency, Juan Miguel Duran, confirmed on social media that an emergency care protocol has been activated.
Preliminary investigation showed the gold mine was engaged in illegal mining and authorities are probing the qualifications of the mine.
