El Salvador will receive 1 million doses of China's Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine purchased by the Salvadoran government, the Chinese embassy in the country said on Saturday.

Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele said on social media that the vaccine was already being transported by air and will arrive early on Sunday.

The Chinese embassy said the arrival of the vaccine will be the fruit of the anti-COVID-19 cooperation between China and El Salvador, which will benefit the Salvadoran people.
