Biden to ramp up U.S. vaccinations in next 3 weeks

U.S. President Joe Biden on Monday announced an acceleration in the availability of coronavirus vaccines, as well as an increase in the number of local pharmacies providing vaccinations and additional mass vaccination sites.

Speaking at the White House, Biden unveiled his new "90-90" plan, saying that 90 percent of U.S. adults will be eligible to get a COVID-19 shot by April 19, and 90 percent of the nation will live within five miles of a vaccination site as his administration more than doubles the number of participating pharmacies.

Public health experts warned about a rising number of coronavirus cases, and government officials said not everyone eligible for vaccination will be inoculated soon.
