Japan has canceled the Olympic torch relay in the city of Osaka amid a resurgence in COVID-19 cases. Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga made the announcement as the government prepares to impose emergency measures in the western prefecture. New measures include shorter business hours and working from home and will last for a month until May 5. Osaka prefecture reported nearly 600 new cases on Wednesday, close to its record of 654 in early January.
