Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met his Malaysian counterpart Hishammuddin Husse Thursday in Nanping City, southeast China's Fujian Province. Regional and international issues of mutual concern were discussed during the meeting. A day before the meeting, the U.S. Secretary of State spoke with the Malaysian Foreign Minister to bring up the issue of freedom of navigation in the South China Sea. Aiming at this, Professor Azmi Hassan, a senior political analyst, pointed out China and ASEAN should be involved in the discussion.
