A Chinese children's book about personal hygiene will be published in overseas markets to spread awareness about how to stay safe during the pandemic.

"COVID-19: What Can Kids Do?" is published by Guangxi Science and Technology Press and various editions will now be released in the United States, India, Nepal, Myanmar and Vietnam among other international markets.

The Chinese publishing house says that the book provides readers with COVID-19 prevention tips and popular science knowledge using attractive illustrations and simple messages. It provides both parents and children with accurate and factual information to understand what COVID-19 is, how it spreads and what measures youngsters can take to protect themselves.

The English version of the picture book was included in the selected titles of Accelerated Reader, a special program used by schools and parents to monitor and improve children's reading skills, according to China News Agency.

Since the onset of COVID-19, the China International Publishing Group (CIPG), China Children's Press and Publication Group (CCPPG) and other Chinese publishing institutions have released dozens of multi-language titles that tackle the public health emergency and share Chinese stories and experiences with the rest of the world to help professionals and the public fight the pandemic.
