Lacquer art, prize of the Maritime Silk Road

During China's Song Dynasty (960-1279), lacquer artwork was one of the most prized goods the country traded along the Maritime Silk Road. The craft is still carried on today by inheritors of the art, in places like Yangjiang, south China's Guangdong Province.
