A grand ceremony paying tribute to Huangdi, or the Yellow Emperor, the ancestor of the Chinese nation, is held at the Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor on the Qiaoshan Mountain, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, to mark Qingming Festival or Tomb-sweeping Day.

The day is an occasion to remember ancestors and family members that have passed away by visiting their graves. Spring outings are also a traditional part of the festival.
