One Chinese mainland student was slightly bruised in a deadly train derailment that occurred on Friday, according to local media citing Taiwan's mainland affairs council.

Fifty people were killed and more than 150 others wounded when a passenger train derailed in eastern Taiwan's Hualien County on Friday.

The council also expressed gratitude to the sympathies and condolences sent from the mainland.
