Chinese mainland reports 21 new COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland recorded 21 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, including 10 cases of local transmission in southwest China's Yunnan Province, data from the National Health Commission (NHC) showed on Sunday.

No additional deaths related to COVID-19 were reported, the NHC said.

Eighteen new asymptomatic cases were recorded on the same day, of which one is from Yunnan, while 299 asymptomatic patients are under medical observation.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 90,273, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region are as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,501 (11,133 recoveries, 205 deaths)

Macao: 48 (48 recoveries)

Taiwan: 1,045 (992 recoveries, 10 deaths)
