The President of El Salvador Nayib Bukele said on Sunday that the country will receive 150,000 Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine doses donated by the Chinese government with the shipment expected to arrive on Tuesday night.

In a tweet, the Chinese embassy in El Salvador called the latest donation "another demonstration of the strong support and friendship" between the two countries.

El Salvador has so far reported 64,431 cases and 2,025 deaths from the virus.
