A man in New York is charged with a brutal attack on a 65-year-old woman of Filipino descent last week. It's been classed as a hate crime. Andy Mok, a senior research fellow at Center for China and Globalization, said the surge in violence against Asian Americans in part linked to misplaced blame for the COVID-19 pandemic.
