Chinese mainland reports 24 new COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland recorded 24 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, including 15 locally transmitted cases in the southwestern Yunnan Province, data from the National Health Commission (NHC) showed on Tuesday.

No additional deaths related to COVID-19 were reported on Monday, the NHC said.

Seventeen new asymptomatic cases were recorded the same day, of which two are from Yunnan, while 304 asymptomatic patients are under medical observation.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 90,329, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region are as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,524 (11,145 recoveries, 205 deaths)

Macao: 48 (48 recoveries)

Taiwan: 1,048 (1004 recoveries, 10 deaths)
