A new landmark in Haikou, the provincial capital of south China's Hainan Province, is ready to welcome visitors this spring. /CFP
On April 3, the white concrete building, called the Wormhole Library, turned on all its lights for the first time. /CFP
Facing the South China Sea, the library is located in Century Park along the Haikou Bay coastline. Visitors can overlook the sea inside the building as the curved concrete walls connect the ceiling, ground and walls together. /CFP
First revealed in August 2020, the library has drawn attention for its unique shape. /CFP
Holes in varying sizes can be seen from every perspective to let in natural light. /CFP
The MAD, an architecture studio in China that designed the building, said that it is a multifunctional building for both reading and resting. /CFP
