The Type-96B main battle tank is an upgraded vehicle independently researched and developed by China based on the Type 96A tank. Type-96B has a 1,200-horsepower diesel turbocharged engine with a top speed of 74 kilometers per hour. Since 2016, Type-96B has attended multiple International Army Games on behalf of China, and performed well in the "Tank Biathlon" of the 2020 International Army Games in Russia.
